- Copy the list for every new hire. Fill in the fields at the top (employee, manager, start date).
- Adapt the owner codes to your organization. State clearly which team completes which item.
- Link a guide to each item. Prepare short screenshot guides for account setup, VPN, leave requests and similar tasks and add their links.
- Tick and date items. Completed lines show who finished what.
- Collect feedback at the end. Where did the new hire get stuck? Update the list and the guides accordingly.
The scenario is covered in employee onboarding. For the HR side see HR processes.
How do you prepare the guide links with Izly?
Most account, access and form items on the list are tasks in a web interface. Record each one once with the Chrome extension, edit the guide and paste its link next to the item. New hires who only read the guide need no seat. Redact screens that show employee data before sharing, and share the link with workspace members only. Start free.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the checklist in a spreadsheet or task tool?
Yes. Paste the text as it is or move the items into your task tool. What matters is that every line has an owner and a guide link.
Does the list cover legal requirements?
No. Mandatory items such as employment paperwork or health and safety training vary by organization and country; complete them with your own HR and legal advisors.
What should I change for a remote hire?
Add hardware shipping, remote access and online introductions, and remove office items such as room booking and access cards.
